This is experience will delight those who seek to delve into the wine culture of an enclave as special as the Sierra de Yerga (Yerga mountain range) and discover the terroir in the company of those who know it well.
The visit begins enjoying the panoramic view offered by the Castle of Quel (15th century) and then ascending to the El Foro vineyard, located at an altitude of 600 m. We will walk among the vines learning about the characteristics of the soil, climate, local grape varieties and the vinegrowing techniques. Then we'll enjoy a glass of wine and a small aperitif in front of the vineyard.
The visit continues at climbing with us up to 800 m. elevation to visit the Barranco del Prado, a 130-year-old Pre-phylloxera Viñedo Singular of Garnacha in the middle of a forest, an authentic treasure in which one of the most special Arizcuren wines is made from. Strolling through this piece of history and enjoying the breathtaking views of the Ebro Valley is certainly an experience to remember.
We will conclude the visit by tasting the wines at the Arizcuren stall in the Quel family bodegas district carved out of the rock, enjoying a traditional Rioja lunch with local products, our own-made olive oil and a selection of local cheeses and sausages.
An unforgettable day for those wine lovers who want to know in depth parts of a less known Rioja, an area of great historical wine value in the DOCa Rioja in process of rediscovery.
